Shaping the future for Fallersleben and Vorsfelde

"Handbook for the future" shows how we are strengthening our districts

Fallersleben and Vorsfelde are the focus of a new strategy for sustainable urban development. Together with Wolfsburg Wirtschaft und Marketing GmbH (WMG), we have drawn up specific plans in the Handbook for the Future on how we can preserve the identity of our districts and at the same time make them fit for the future.

How can we ensure that our historic town centers continue to develop in a lively, attractive and sustainable way? With the 3 centers, 1 concept project and the Future for Fallersleben and Vorsfelde handbook now available, we are providing a clear answer: through strong cooperation and a plan based on in-depth analyses, many discussions with experts and, in particular, your participation.

Whether urban design, housing, retail, culture, mobility or climate protection - in each of these areas, we are focusing on concrete measures that should be directly tangible on the ground.

"With the handbooks Future for Fallersleben and Vorsfelde, we have a clear roadmap on how we can build on the strengths of our districts and ensure their long-term attractiveness. It's about more than just individual projects - it's about a shared vision for the future that we are implementing step by step. This is how we create places where people feel comfortable, invest and enjoy living," emphasizes Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann.

Preserving history, shaping the future

It was important to us that we don't make decisions across the districts, but together with the local people. That's why the handbooks were not just developed at a desk, but in dialog with you.

"Together with WMG, the concepts give us the opportunity to take a targeted and structured approach. They combine the preservation of historical charm with modern solutions for mobility, climate protection and urban design. The involvement of citizens ensures that we implement measures that are supported by the community and create real added value," explains First City Councillor and City Planning Councillor Kai-Uwe Hirschheide.

What happens next

The handbooks for the future form the basis for the next five years. For Fallersleben and Vorsfelde, 35,000 euros are available each year for the implementation of the measures - supplemented by targeted funding. In regular meetings with the local councils, the city administration and WMG, we look at what we have already achieved and what the next steps should be.

The Wolfsburg City Council will decide on October 1 on the implementation of the measures and the necessary funding.
