A green piece of home for everyone
City of Wolfsburg starts planning for new allotment garden site in Reislingen

The City Council of Wolfsburg is expected to make the final decision on the planning resolution in October. If all further planning and participation steps go according to plan, the new site could be implemented from 2027.
"Allotment gardens are not only places for recreation, but also lively meeting places for families, neighborhoods and generations. I am very pleased that we can create a concrete perspective for new gardens in Reislingen with the planning that has now been initiated," emphasizes Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann.
City planning officer Kai-Uwe Hirschheide also sees the project as an important signal: "The area in Reislingen was deliberately prioritized in Wolfsburg's 2030 allotment garden concept. With the start of the development plan process, we are laying the foundations for the needs-based further development of the allotment garden movement - concretely, but with the necessary planning lead time."
High demand for new gardens
According to a survey by the Bezirksverband der Kleingärtner Wolfsburg und Umgebung e. V., there is currently a clear need for new allotment gardens - many associations have waiting lists. The planned site in Reislingen is intended to meet this demand in the long term. It is planned to develop the site via Käthe-Paulus-Straße. We are assuming all planning costs associated with the process.
