Next step for BRAWO City
Planned contract creates basis for further development

"With the Nordkopfquartier Ost, we are creating space for modern, mixed-use city life in a central location. The planned contract lays the foundation for this and creates a binding basis for further planning," explains Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. "The collaboration with Volksbank BRAWO is an important signal for the future of our city center."
A quarter for living, working and living
The Nordkopfquartier Ost is set to become a lively mix: Apartments, office space and uses on the first floor that will attract many people - for example, restaurants or retail outlets along Porschestrasse.
"The project is a key urban development project with high demands in terms of quality, mixed use and sustainability," adds city planning officer Kai-Uwe Hirschheide. "The draft contract provides clarity about the next steps."
What happens next
The draft contract stipulates that Volksbank BRAWO will take on key planning services in the first section (Module 1) - including the detailing of the competition results from 2023. Further work is planned for the second module. Together, the two areas are to form a coordinated urban quarter.
Subsidized rental housing is also already included in the contract - concrete regulations on this will follow later in another contract.
In October, the Wolfsburg City Council will decide on the conclusion of the basic urban development contract.
