The Social Services department comprises the areas of ASD, UMA, youth welfare in criminal proceedings, foster children and adoption services, entry management and economic youth welfare. The management team consists of a head of department and four department heads. Together, they responsibly and innovatively shape and develop these core youth welfare issues for the city of Wolfsburg.

Your activities:

  • Specialist and personnel responsibility for two specialist areas in the Social Services department with a total of 12 employees
  • Organizational and conceptual development of the specialist areas in coordination with the department management
  • Responsibility for personnel and deployment planning
  • Ensuring and further developing the defined specialist processes and standards in the area of SGB VIII, in particular the Child and Youth Strengthening Act (KJSG)
  • Dealing with fundamental issues in the specialist areas and special case constellations
  • Networking with various cooperation partners and institutions as well as participation in working committees of the Social Services Department, the Youth Division and external working groups
  • Actively supporting and accompanying employees in child welfare reviews and assuming on-call duties
  • Due to the extensive range of tasks, full-time employment is required

You bring with you:

  • a completed university degree in social work / social pedagogy with state recognition
  • Qualification for career group 2, 1st entry-level post specializing in health and social services (No. 1 Annex 4 NLVO)
  • Experience in working in general social services / foster child and adoption services / youth welfare in criminal proceedings
  • Management experience and experience in quality or process management are desirable
  • IT skills (MS Office and the in-house program OK JUS)
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility with regard to the management mandate and working hours (crisis situations, child protection and on-call duty)
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to take responsibility for representing the city's interests internally and externally and to make decisions at short notice in given situations
  • Knowledge of and commitment to cultural and gender diversity
