Glasses or keys lost

If you have yours, please come to the lost and found office in person. If the lost property shows your personal details and you are registered in Wolfsburg, we will notify you in writing.

If you are not registered in Wolfsburg, the lost property will be forwarded to the lost and found office responsible for you.

The lost and found office is available to answer your questions in person, by telephone and in writing.

For all other lost property, you can check yourself under the following link to see whether something suitable has been handed in. Online registration has been available since 01.06.2019.

If the owner does not come forward, the finder can take over the lost property after the storage period of six months against payment of an administrative fee. There is no fee for this. You can find more details under the item: finder's fee and charges.

Please hand in lost and found at the Lost Property Office, Town Hall B, Room B011, during the opening hours listed below.

Lost property can also be placed in the internal letterbox in front of Town Hall A at any time.

If known, the following points should be answered:

• When was the item found?
• Where was the item found?
• Do you want to register rights to the lost property? (finder's fee or purchase of the lost property)

Lost property is also accepted by every police station as well as administrative, district and local offices.

Monday and Tuesday: 08:30 - 16:30
Wednesday and Friday: 08:30 - 12:00
Thursday: 08:30 - 17:30

As a rule, two lost property auctions are held each year. One in the spring at the CongressPark Wolfsburg and an online auction in the fall.

Finder's reward

The amount of the finder's fee depends on the value of the lost property:

up to 500.00 euros = 5 percent of the value of the lost property

over 500,00 Euro = additional 3 percent of the value exceeding 500,00 Euro

Fees

The fees are charged on the basis of the General Fee Schedule (AllGO). The minimum fee is 5.00 euros.

Special features

For technical devices that may contain personal data, a professional deletion must be performed.

For smartphones, for example, costs of 36.90 euros are incurred here. The costs incurred must also be borne by the finder.
